Biography

Mr. Gaurav Bansal is Head of Watson Financial Services Solutions in ASEAN, and has responsibility to work with the world’s most influential enterprises to transform business operations using next-generation AI solutions. In the current role, he brings forth the thought leadership around Regulatory and Financial Crimes domain for business transformation of Financial Services clients in the region.

Adept at both business and methodological constructs, Gaurav has worked with financial institutions of varied process maturity and culture in India and South East Asia, helping organizations achieve impressive business outcomes. Earlier in his career, he was a member of extended management team of RedPill Solutions, which was acquired by IBM in Oct 2009.

In the recent years, Gaurav has focused on a variety of topics in delivering strategic solutions for clients, ranging from Wealth management, Anti Money-Laundering, Retail Banking, SME, Micro Finance and Credit Cards.  He has successfully directed many first-of-a-kind projects with leading financial institutions. His current interest includes seeding disruptive business ideas using new technologies like Watson.

Gaurav interacts with a wide range of market participants, and has addressed and moderated discussions at Banking and Finance forums. Gaurav holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing; and is certified Financial Risk Manager.
